Bsc Hons Fashion Marketing


This module aims to develop students’ ability to critically evaluate approaches to research and data analysis relating to contemporary management issues faced by organisations operating in a global and diverse context. Students will have the opportunity to select research and critically assess a range of contemporary management issues in depth. Enquiry-based learning methods will be used to explore the nature and implications of these issues with emphasis placed upon how managers can contribute to the effective management of these issues in practice.

This specialist course will arm you with advanced practical sports therapy skills and scientific knowledge, with excellent placement opportunities to test your training in the real world. This Level 3 course introduces you to key concepts in marketing, business, finance and management as well as enabling you to develop practical digital marketing skills, earning you a widely-recognised BTEC National qualification. Our International Tourism Management postgraduate course enables you to develop specialist tourism management skills, with the opportunity to travel overseas on an international project as well as an optional six-month placement.

We have a dedicated placements team with over three decades of experience sourcing and securing outstanding placement opportunities. They will provide you with extensive support and advice prior to and during your industry placement. This unit introduces students to the fundamental principles and techniques required for the creative exploration of fashion / sportswear design and the associated material and manufacturing technologies.

This module introduces students to key concepts, literature and debates to investigate relationships between the topics and issues encompassed within the Sustainable Development Goals. All class based teaching takes places between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday during term time. Wednesday afternoons are kept free from timetabled teaching for personal study time and for sports clubs and societies to train, meet and play matches. There may be some occasional learning opportunities that take places outside of these hours for which you will be given forewarning. You will have the opportunity to spend a year on a paid work placement in a business organisation.

Fashion Marketing

This module develops your ability to work in different contexts and organisations. In preparing for this you will be provided with opportunities to experience different aspects of working with people in organisations through practical learning activities within the seminars and workshops. You will be introduced to a range of organisation behaviour theories to inform and explain different aspects of with people in organisations. The Sustainable Development Goals are referenced to develop awareness of the wider impact of individual and organisation behaviour. University of Winchester students studying Bachelor Honours degrees are pre-approved to start a Masters degree at Winchester. To be eligible students must apply by the end of March in their final year and meet the entry requirements of their chosen Masters degree.

You will learn about consumer behaviour and how fashion ranges are researched, planned, sourced and developed. You will also study visual merchandising , purchasing and supply chain management, ethical issues and sustainability, and sales analysis. You are also likely to study a module that gives you an overview of fashion textiles and garment development.

International Master Project Management

Developing intellectual, innovative approaches to Menswear through the synthesis of theoretical and practical. Students will master traditional and emerging technologies to extend and develop conceptual fashion products and ranges that challenge convention and advance fashion practice within a defined Menswear specialism. Students will communicate their work using industry standards and specifications applicable to defined market levels.

Students will also review and consider their potential contribution in terms of work-life balance and well-being in the context of UN Sustainable Development Goal 3. This module provides the opportunity for students to research an area of particular interest to them that is relevant to their studies. For students undertaking a year-long work placement the dissertation may be set in the context of the host organisation. The module contributes to the continued professional and academic development of students in the application of research knowledge and skills acquired throughout their programme. As students are required to manage the research project, the dissertation provides a vehicle for them to demonstrate the extent to which they have managed the transition from tutor-led to student-centred learning.
